Kenneth Ash
Jr. Vice Commander - Air Force

Ken was born in Otsego, MI in November of 1947 to LaVern and Olive Ash, joining two older brothers and two older sisters.

He joined the air force right after graduation in 1967. 

During his military career, he did tours in Thailand and Guam. Both there and stateside he worked maintenance on B52's and KC135's.

He was an Hydraulic Technician until he took a three year tour to Hahn, Germany in 1983 where he was an instructor on hydraulic systems on the F16. Returning home to the USA in 1986.

Ken met his wife while stationed at Wurtsmith, AFB MI in 1975. They had two sons, Andrew and Joshua, who joined their older sister, Stephanie.

Ken and his family retired from the Air Force in 1987, moving from Bossier City, LA to Middleburg, FL. Wanting to live closer to family, they moved to Rochester, IL in 1989.

Along with three children, Ken has 8 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He joined VFW Post 10302 almost 7 years ago and has remained active doing what he can for the organization and his fellow veterans.
